GymCats Selected to Fayetteville Regional

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Gymnastics has been selected to participate in the NCAA Fayetteville Regional at Bud Walton Arena following an impressive season with 12 scores above 196.
 
This is the Arizona's fifth straight regional appearance and 35th appearance all-time. The GymCats earned two scores in the top 10 in program history this season – a 197.000 against Stanford (seventh-highest score) and a 196.950 at the Texas Woman's Quad Meet (ninth-highest score).
 
Arizona set two program record event scores of 49.625 on beam in its win over Washington and a 49.475 on bars in its victory over Stanford. In addition, the GymCats tied the fifth-highest beam score with a 49.425 against Oregon State.
 
"It's always a great day when Arizona earns an NCAA bid," said head coach John Court. "This season has been record-breaking in many ways and it's due to the commitment of the athletes, coaches, and staff. We all push each other to be better and we are excited to continue our season in Arkansas."
 
Arizona finished the regular season with a 196.885 NQS, the GymCats' highest NQS in program history, and will compete against Kentucky, Arkansas, and Nebraska in the eight-team round of the Fayetteville Regional.
