TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Gymnastics' Elena Deets and Emma Strom were named the Pac-12 Specialist of the Week and Coaches' Choice of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday.
 
Deets earned Specialist of the Week honors after helping Arizona beat Washington with a 196.675 and helping the GymCats set a program record on beam with a 49.625. The senior from Maple Grove, Minnesota set a career high of 9.975 on beam as the anchor to help Arizona set a program record score on the event and secure the win over the Huskies in the final rotation of the meet. Deets also scored a 9.875 on floor to help Arizona beat Washington.
 
Strom earned Pac-12 Coaches' Choice – her first career Pac-12 weekly award – after going 3-for-3 to help the GymCats beat Washington. The Omaha, Nebraska native delivered a career high 9.925 on beam to help Arizona secure the win and break the school record on the event with a 49.625. As a sophomore, Strom is Arizona's most improved gymnast from last year and has shown incredible commitment and dedication to the team to continue improving each week. In addition to her 9.925 on beam, she scored a 9.825 on floor as the leadoff and earned a 9.70 on vault.
 
The GymCats host Utah on Friday, March 8 in for senior night in McKale Center. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. MST and will be streamed on Pac-12 Insider.
