CORVALLIS, Ore. – Arizona improved to 19-5-1 (2-1 Pac-12) after a 6-0 win over Oregon State to win the series. The Wildcats scored six runs on nine hits – led by
Tayler Biehl and
Allie Skaggs with two hits and two RBI each.
Skaggs hit two home runs in the game and
Aissa Silva (11-1) threw a complete-game two-hit shutout.
The Wildcats scored four in the top of the second inning for an early lead. Skaggs hit a leadoff home run to open the inning.
Paige Dimler then hit a triple to score
Emily Schepp and
Tayler Biehl drove in Arizona's third run of the inning with an RBI single. With two runners on,
Regan Shockey singled to plate one more for the Cats.
Skaggs hit her second leadoff home run – her seventh homer of the season – of the game in the third inning to give Arizona a five-run lead.
In the top of the fifth, Biehl recorded her second hit to drive in Arizona's sixth run of the game.
Silva earned her 11th win of the season after throwing a complete-game gem to shutout Oregon State. She struck out a career high nine batters and allowed only two hits in the game.
