Wildcats Fan 15 to Beat Bulldogs, 9-1

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats (19-13) picked up their ninth consecutive win on Friday night at Hi Corbett Field, a dominant 9-1 victory over Louisiana Tech (26-10).

Arizona's pitching staff combined to allow just one run on three hits while striking out 15, while the offense pounded out 12 hits and drew four walks to push across nine runs.

Wildcat starter Jackson Kent continued his dominant season, posting his sixth quality start in nine attempts. The left-hander struck out nine and allowed just one run on three hits, earning the win to move to 3-1 on the year and lowering his ERA to 2.60.

Right-handed relievers Dawson Netz and Anthony Susac were equally impressive, striking out all six batters they faced over the final two innings.

Arizona was led offensively by catcher Adonys Guzman, who drove in three runs on three hits, and center fielder Brendan Summerhill, who scored three runs and clubbed three extra-base hits.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and never surrendered the lead. The Bulldogs scored once in the top of the second to cut into Arizona's lead, but were out-scored 7-0 over the remainder of the game.
