TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona Football brought the energy in full pads for the first time inside Arizona Stadium on Day 4 of spring practice.
The Wildcats were back inside Arizona Stadium for day four of spring practice and effort and technique were a focus today. Arizona put on full pads for the first time in spring practice.
One of the deepest positions on the field is the tailback room with returners
Rayshon Luke and
Brandon Johnson, and newcomers
Quali Conley,
Jordan Washington, and
Anthony Wilhite making up the running back room during spring practice.
Technique, physicality, and fundamentals are a part of the routine during a normal practice day for running backs. Taking care of the ball is a point of emphasis for Assistant Head Coach and Running Backs Coach Alonzo Carter. The consistency of working all phases of the game from making the correct read and block against a defense to securing the ball and avoiding costly turnovers will be a focus throughout spring ball.
Camp will conclude on April 27 with the Red vs. Blue Spring Game at 6 p.m. MST, inside Arizona Stadium.
Coach Carter and running backs Luke, Johnson, Conley, and Washington spoke with the media after practice.
Quote of the Day
"I look back on the last couple of years, just doing what I have been doing, being a teammate and waiting on my turn. My turn is finally here now so of course I am just going to excel and succeed through it with my brothers around me." - Running Back
Rayshon Luke.
