TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona Baseball shortstop Mason White, one of the top sluggers on the west coast, has been selected as one of 68 semifinalists for the 2024 Dick Howser Trophy, the Nationall Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced on Thursday.

This is the 37th year of the Dick Howser Trophy, which is presented annually to the top college baseball player in the nation. Finalists will be announced on Thursday, June 8.

White's selection is the first of his career, and marks the third straight year that Arizona has landed a player on the prestigious award's semifinalist list. Outfielder Chase Davis and Kiko Romero were semifinalists in 2023, while catcher Daniel Susac earned the honor in 2022.

The Tucson native currently leads the team and ranks tied for second in the Pac-12 in both home runs (17) and RBI (60), while his .618 slugging percentage ranks seventh on the circuit. Through 50 games, White is hitting .309 with 21 multi-hit games and 18 multi-RBI performances; he has hit safely in 39-of-50 games.

White and the Wildcats look to lock up the program's sixth Pac-12 championship this week against Oregon State. Arizona's magic number is one with a three-game set on deck at Hi Corbett Field. Games begin at 6:00 p.m. MST this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Tickets are available for purchase here.
