WACO, Texas - Arizona Soccer secured their first conference win with a 1-0 victory over Baylor on Thursday night.
Setting the tone early on, the Cats kicked off Thursday's match with a shot from senior
Nyota Katembo in the 35th second. Arizona displayed a dominant offense, maintaining possession for majority of the first half and tallying eleven shots compared to Baylor's two.
The Cats and Bears were tied up at 0-0 heading into the second half. In the 59th minute, Arizona was able to get one in the back of the net off the foot of senior
Gianna Christiansen. The goal marks Christiansen's fourth of the season, and her first game winner.
Goalkeeper
Olivia Ramey faced nine shots in the last 45 minutes, saving five on goal. The game marks Ramey's fourth shutout of the season.
In total, Arizona out-shot Baylor 21-11.
