Tetairoa McMillan Earns First Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan posted a single-game program record 304 receiving yards and single-game-record-tying four touchdown receptions to earn Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, as announced today by the conference.

McMillan notched his fifth straight game with 100-plus receiving yards on his way to the first Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week nod. He is the first Wildcat to earn this award following the first game as a member of the Big 12.

McMillan joined Larry Heater (Pac-10 Offense) and Cleveland Crosby (Pac-10 Defense) in 1978 to win Conference Player of the Week Honors during the first year in a power five conference.

It is his second Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor of his career, after earning Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week following the regular-season-ending win over Arizona State in 2023.

The 304 receiving yards surpassed Jeremy McDaniel's 283 yards receiving to grab the top spot in program history. McMillan also has the third-most receiving yards in a single game in program history, 266 at Arizona State to close out 2023 regular season.

McMillan reeled in four touchdown grabs to tie a single-game record set by Jacob Cowing in 2023. He now finds himself 6th in program history with 22 touchdown grabs in his career, needing one more touchdown to move into the top five and tie Mike Thomas and Bobby Wade for fourth.

In the season-opening win, Tetairoa McMillan became the first player in FBS history to have a game with 10-plus receptions, 300-plus receiving yards, 30.0-plus yards per reception, and 4-plus receiving TD (per OptaSTATS).

Arizona moved to 1-0 on the season with a 61-39 win over New Mexico. The Wildcats' 61 points are their 14th-most in program history, and the most ever scored in a head coach's debut. Arizona posted 627 yards of total offense, its most since going for 673 total yards against Colorado in 2022.

The Wildcats host the Lumberjacks from Northern Arizona on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast by ESPN+. How to watch ESPN+.
