TUCSON, Ariz. - The history of Arizona Athletics teams is filled with championship teams and student-athletes on the field, but the excellence also runs deep in the classroom and it continued in the Fall 2024 semester. As a department, across all sports, Arizona's 504 student-athletes registered a 3.373 grade-point average, which is the highest Fall semester GPA on record.  

In total, 11 teams posted their highest Fall semester GPA on record and 15 teams improved their semester GPA from a year ago. Every team finished the semester with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 14th consecutive semester. 

The teams that set GPA records in the fall were:

Women's Swimming & Diving 
Men's Tennis

Men's Track & Field 
Volleyball 

The team with the highest GPA for the semester was women's tennis at 3.873 while men's cross country had the highest team GPA for a men's team at 3.622. The semester was also the highest-ever GPA for men's teams and women's teams.

390 (77.4%) student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher 
276 (54.8%) student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher 
128 (25.4%) student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA
