CINCINNATI - Arizona women's soccer dropped a 1–0 decision on the road at Cincinnati on Sunday afternoon, as the Bearcats broke through with the match's lone goal in the 84th minute.
Cincinnati's Megan Smith provided the difference-maker, finishing off a cross from Coley Sidloski to lift the Bearcats to their first Big 12 home win of the season.
The Wildcats (7–6–0, 2–3–0 Big 12) held Cincinnati scoreless for more than 80 minutes behind a composed defensive effort and five saves from sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Ramey, who played the full 90 minutes.
Arizona's back line, led by Marissa Arnst, Ella Hatteberg, and Aranda Hurge, limited Cincinnati to just four first-half shots before the Bearcats found their rhythm late. Sophomore Whitney Reinhardt earned her first career start, logging a full 90 minutes in the midfield and helping Arizona control key stretches of possession early.
The Wildcats produced five corner kicks and their lone shot came from Lily Boydstun in the 27th minute, but the attack couldn't find a breakthrough.
Cincinnati (3–5–5, 1–3–1) outshot Arizona 14–1 overall and held a 6–0 advantage in shots on goal, while the Wildcats maintained a narrow 46 percent share of possession. Bearcat goalkeeper Camryn Miller earned the clean sheet without recording a save.
Arizona will look to bounce back next week as it continues Big 12 play, returning home to face Utah next Friday for senior night.
