TUCSON, Ariz. - The Big 12 Conference announced its weekly award winners on Monday (Nov. 24), and Arizona freshman forward Koa Peat was named the conference's Newcomer of the Week while senior point guard Jaden Bradley claimed a spot in the Big 12's Starting Five. Â
Â
It is the second weekly honor for Peat, after he earned co-player of the week and newcomer of the week accolades on Nov. 10. Â
Â
For Bradley, it is his first weekly honor from the Big 12 Conference. He was named National Player of the Week by NCAA.com for his 21-point performance in the road win at No. 3 UConn. It was Bradley's up-and-under basket in the final minute that put Arizona on top for good. Â
Â
Peat posted the first double-double of his college career with 16 points and 12 rebounds in the win at UConn. He also added three assists and two blocked shots in the game. Â
Â
The win at UConn made Arizona just the third team in the last 25 years to win three of their first five games of a season against Top 15 opponents away from home. Â Â
Â
The Wildcats checked in at No. 2 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll that was released Monday morning as well. It marks the highest ranking for Arizona since ascending to the No. 1 spot on Dec. 11, 2023. Â
Â
This week, Arizona is back at home to take on Denver tonight and then Norfolk State on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets for both games are available at arizonawildcats.com/mbk. Â
