TUCSON, ARIZ. – Both the men's and women's teams had a strong showing today against the No. 15 and No. 12 USC Trojans.
The men's team beat USC 182-118, dominating in multiple events. The cats had two Top three sweeps in the 50 Yard Free and 100 Free.
Jake Hutchinson lead the 50 Free with a time of 19.62, followed by
Taylor Luck and
Aidan Flanagan.
Tomas Lukminas won the 100 Free (42.49) followed by
Ralph Daleiden and
Taylor Luck.
Duncan Henderson had a strong meet, placing first in the 100 Back (45.92) and second in the 200 Back
The women's team fell short to USC (109-189) but still had some strong swims throughout the meet.
Zara Ayazi had a strong performance on the boards, placing first in the 3-Meter (319.50) and third In the 1-Meter.
Eleni Gewalt won the 100 Breaststroke (1:00.15) and was a part of the winning 200 Free Relay.
The Wildcats had strong relay times, placing first on both sides. The men placed first in the 400 Medley with a time of 3:05.71.
Alexandre Desangles led them off, followed by
Tavner Wisdom,
Haakon Naughton, and
Tomas Lukminas. The women won the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:28.61 with
Riley Botton,
Julia Wozniak,
Eleni Gewalt, and
Patricija Kondraskaite. The final relay of the day was won by
Tomas Lukminas,
Jake Hutchinson,
Taylor Luck, and
Ralph Daleiden in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:16.94.
The women's team is back in the pool tomorrow at 10:30 am to face No. 23 UCLA.
