Arizona Ascends to No. 1 in AP Top 25 Poll

TUCSON, Ariz. - For the third time under head coach Tommy Lloyd and the first time since 2023, Arizona is ranked No. 1 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll. Since the AP poll began during the 1948-49 season, this marks the 40th week that the Wildcats have been on top, a total that ranks ninth among all schools.

Arizona was last ranked No. 1 in the poll on Dec. 4, 2023 and Dec. 11, 2023.

This season, Arizona is 8-0 overall with four of those wins coming against Top 25 teams, including a 97-68 victory over then-No. 20 Auburn in McKale Center. Senior guard Jaden Bradley (14.5) is one of four Wildcats averaging double-figures along with freshmen Koa Peat (15.9) and Brayden Burries (11.3) and senior sixth man Anthony Dell'Orso (11.3).

As a team, Arizona is shooting 53.1% from the floor this season, which ranks third overall in the country. Rebounding continues to be a strength for the Wildcats, posting a +12.0 rebound margin, eighth-best in the country.

This week, the Wildcats are back on the road to take on No. 12 Alabama in Birmingham as part of the C.M. Newton Classic.
