Wildcats Begin 44th NCAA Tournament at Eugene Regional

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats, owners of the Big 12 Conference's automatic bid, heard their names called during the NCAA Selection Show on Monday morning and will begin their 2025 postseason journey in the Eugene Regional. There they will face host Oregon, Cal Poly, and Utah Valley.

Arizona will open play at the Eugene Regional against the Cal Poly Mustangs on Friday, May 30 at 1:00 p.m. MST with a television broadcast on ESPN+.

This marks the 44th NCAA Tournament selection in program history, the sixth most in the nation. It is also the fifth consecutive year the Wildcats will be participating in the NCAA Tournament, the second-longest streak in program history.

Arizona rode dominant pitching, timely hitting, and spectacular defense to a clean 3-0 sweep of their first Big 12 Baseball Championship last week in Arlington, earning the conference's automatic bid. Over the course of three games the Wildcats pitching staff allowed just three runs, allowing Arizona to out-score their opponents a combined 18-3.

In their fourth season under head coach Chip Hale, the Wildcats collected 36 regular season wins and an 18-12 mark in Big 12 play that was good for a fourth place conference finish. Arizona has now qualified for the NCAA Tournament in each of coach Hale's first four seasons, making him just the second coach in program history to achieve the feat.
