TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Volleyball has announced the additions of two transfers,
Maria Olga Siapani and
Payton Woods, to the 2026 roster.
"We are excited to welcome Maria and Payton to the Wildcat family," head coach
Charita Stubbs said. "Maria is an experienced setter and great leader on the court. She was the America East Setter of the Year and will bring a competitive attitude to the roster. Payton has played at a high level and will compete immediately as an attacker on the pin for us."
Siapani is transferring to Arizona following two years at UAlbany. The setter earned America East Setter of the Year in 2025 and America East Rookie of the Year honors in 2024. During the 2025 season, Siapani led the conference with 9.26 assists per set and 852 total assists. Across her two years at UAlbany, she recorded 35 30-plus assist matches, 11 40-plus assist matches, and three 50-plus assist matches. Additionally, Siapani earned six America East Setter of the Week honors in 2025 and 11 America East weekly honors in 2024.
Woods, an outside hitter, comes to Arizona after one season at Virginia Tech and previous stops at Mississippi State and Sam Houston State. During the 2025 season at Virginia Tech, Woods led the Hokies with 331 kills and 3.15 kills per set across 105 sets. In the ACC, Woods ranked 18th with 3.15 kills per set. She tallied 10 or more kills in 18 matches last season, including a 20-kill performance against Boston College. Defensively, Woods tallied 49 total kills and 105 digs for the Hokies last season. Prior to Virginia Tech, she saw action in four sets at Mississippi State in 2024 and played in 49 sets for Sam Houston State in 2023. At Sam Houston State, Woods totaled 157 kills and 21 blocks.
Siapani and Woods will join freshmen
Hayden Reeder, Marina Vosloo, and Gigi Whann as newcomers to the 2026 roster.
