TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona Swim and Dive delivered in the first two sessions at the Big 12 West Championships. The women's team placed in the top three 13 times, and the men's team placed 12 times throughout both sessions
Several swimmers and divers had an outstanding first day in Tempe.
Zara Ayazi placed second in the women's 3-meter and helped secure a team diving win for the women in the second session.
Kelsey Wasikowski had a standout swim in the 200 breast (2:10.95), securing her a win Friday afternoon.
The relay teams were consistent throughout the day, placing seven times.
Riley Botton,
Patricija Kondraskaite,
Charlie Millard, and
Julia Wozniak started the meet out strong with a win in the 200 free relay (1:28.76).
Jake Hutchinson,
Orion Henderson,
Duncan Henderson, and
Ralph Daleiden fought for a second-place finish in the 200-yard free as well.
