STANFORD, Calif. – No. 16 Arizona was run-ruled, 12-2 in five innings, by No. 3 Texas on the final day of the DeMarini Invitational.
The Wildcats recorded four hits and drew two walks against the Longhorns, but Texas scored 12 runs on 13 hits.
Tayler Biehl drove in both of Arizona's runs in the game.
Texas took advantage of a throwing error by the Arizona defense to score one run in the first inning.
In the third inning, the Longhorns scored 10 runs to take an 11-0 lead. An RBI hit-by-pitch and RBI single brought in the first two runs. The third run scored on a fielder's choice and another RBI single drove in the fourth run. A pair of doubles allowed Texas to score three runs and two singles brought in three more runs.
Arizona plated two runs in the fourth inning on a two-run double from Biehl to cut the deficit to nine runs.
Texas added one more run to take a 12-1 leading in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI groundout.
Rylie Holder picked up the loss to fall to 3-1 on the season. She pitched the first two innings and allowed Texas to score three runs on five hits.
Jalen Adams entered in relief and went 0.1 inning while allowing seven runs on four hits.
Sarah Wright entered in the third inning and closed out the game, allowing two runs on four hits.

The No. 16 Arizona Wildcats will return home to host the Hillenbrand Invitational February 26-March 1. Arizona will welcome Eastern Illinois, Howard, Long Beach State, and Minnesota for the final non-conference tournament of the season.
