TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 18 Wildcats fell to the No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners, 5-4, on Sunday afternoon at the Candrea Classic.
Arizona had five hits and drew five walks in the final game of the weekend.
Sydney Stewart led the Cats with three RBI on a triple in the second inning.
The Sooners scored first on a sacrifice fly in the second inning but Arizona answered with four runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 4-1 lead. With the bases loaded,
Addison Duke drew a walk to score the first run for the Cats. Stewart then gave Arizona the lead with a bases-clearing triple – her third career triple.
Oklahoma scored one run in the fourth and one run in the fifth but Arizona still held a 4-3 lead.
In the top of the seventh, the Sooners hit back-to-back solo home runs to take a 5-4 lead over the Wildcats.
Arizona had two runners on but couldn't answer in the bottom of the inning.
Jalen Adams went 6.2 innings and struck out one Sooner but allowed five runs.
Jenae Berry pitched to two batters in the fourth, allowing one walk.

No. 18 Arizona will host the Bear Down Fiesta from February 12-15 at Hillenbrand Stadium with Creighton, Coastal Carolina, Drake, and Utah Valley. The Cats will take on Drake on Thursday, February 12 at 5 p.m. MST to open the tournament.
