Arizona Men's Golf Claims The Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate Title

Arizona Men's Golf captured the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate title, continuing its dominant run at Tucson Country Club. They have now won their home event eight of the past nine years.
The Wildcats finished at 25-under par as a team, holding off the field to secure the victory in the final round.
Leading the way for Arizona was Filip Jakubcik, who delivered a strong closing round to finish at 10-under par overall and placed second individually. Jakubcik had a clutch up and down on the final hole to secure the win.
Freshman William Wistrand and Redshirt freshman Taishi Moto each finished at 7-under par, tying for third place. Both players carded rounds of 70 in the final round. Their tied third finishes marked both players' best finish of their careers.
Zach Pollo rounded out the counting scores for the Wildcats, finishing at even par in the final round and 1-under overall. Connor Hamm competed as well, finishing at 7-over par.
Arizona's par four scoring average of 3.97 across the 54-holes was the best amongst the field. They also had the second most birdies with 62. Filip Jakubcik had the lowest par four scoring average out of the 81 players. William Wistrand had the third most birdies with 15 and he had the second best par five scoring average after playing them 6-under par.
Next for the Cats is the Western Intercollegiate on April 13th-15th, which will be aired live on Golf Channel.
