TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 14 Arizona run-ruled BYU, 13-1, in five innings behind an 11-run first inning on Thursday at Hillenbrand Stadium. Â

Arizona's offense exploded with 13 runs on 10 hits and
Sydney Stewart led the team with five RBI while
Sereniti Trice went 3-for-3 at the plate.

BYU scored a run in the first on a double to right field before Arizona ended the inning.
Â
The Wildcats answered BYU's run with 11 runs in the bottom of the first. Stewart drove in the first three runs with a bases-clearing double.
Addison Duke then hit a two-run single and
Regan Shockey drove in a pair with an infield hit. Trice had an RBI single and
Tayler Biehl drove in the next run with a double to left center. Stewart rounded out the inning with a two-run home run – her seventh of the season.

Arizona added two runs in the second to extended the lead to 13-1. Shockey drove in the first run with a groundout and Trice hit an RBI single to bring in the second run.

The Cats did not allow BYU to score the rest of the game and
Jalen Adams retired the side in just four pitches in the fourth inning. Adams picked up the win to improve to 10-3 on the season, allowing just one run on one hit in four innings.
Jenae Berry closed out the game in the fifth, giving up a walk but not allowing the Cougars to score.
