TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 20 Wildcats (32-13, 13-6 Big 12) run-ruled Houston in the first game of the series, 9-1 in five innings, on Friday night at Hillenbrand Stadium.  Â

Arizona recorded 13 hits and nine RBI with four home runs to take down the Cougars.
Tayler Biehl,
Addison Duke, and
Sydney Stewart all homered and Stewart led the way with two home runs.

The Cats struck first with two runs in the first inning.
Tele Jennings drove in the first run with an RB single and
Grace Jenkins drew a bases-loaded walk to give Arizona an early 2-0 lead.

In the second inning, Arizona scored three to extend the lead to 5-0 over Houston. Duke hit a solo home run, her fifth homer of the year, and Stewart hit a two-run home run.

Houston hit a solo home run in the top of the third to make it a 5-1 game.

Arizona scored four in the fourth to take a 9-1 lead. Stewart hit her second home run of the game, a three-run shot, to give the Cats an 8-1 lead.
Tayler Biehl hit a solo shot over the batter's eye to give Arizona an eight-run lead.

Jalen Adams pitched a complete game to pick up her 19th win of the season. She allowed just one run on six hits and struck out three batters in five innings. Â Â
