Arizona Men’s Basketball Headed to Lithuania in August

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona men's basketball team, coming off a 36-3 record last season and the program's first appearance in the Final Four in 25 years, will be going international this summer with a historic visit to Lithuania in August.

"It is an honor to have the opportunity to bring our program to Lithuania in August," said Arizona head coach Tommy Lloyd. "Not just because it is a special country with incredible people, but because they have a strong passion for the game of basketball just like Arizona fans. We look forward to immersing ourselves in the Lithuanian culture, with the added bonus of being able to play a couple exhibition games against some great competition."

The USA College Lithuania Tour, which is organized by Complete Sports Management, will see the Wildcats in Lithuania Aug. 14-23, where they will play three exhibition games against the national teams from Lithuania and Ukraine. The schedule of games is:

Aug. 19 vs. Lithuania B Team (Jonava, Lithuania)
Aug. 20 vs. Ukraine Senior National Team (Kedaninai, Lithuania)
Aug. 22 vs. Lithuania Senior National Team (Alytus, Lithuania)

The game on Aug. 22 will mark the first time that the Lithuanian men's senior national team has ever competed against a college team.

Arizona will spend time in the cities of Kaunas and Palanga during the trip, with the three games taking place near Kaunas, which is the second-largest city in Lithuania. It is also where current Wildcat Motiejus Krivas played for the club team Zalgiris Kaunas prior to coming to the University of Arizona.

"This will be a very special trip for me," Krivas said. "Being able to have my teammates and coaches visit my home country is something I never thought would happen. I am grateful to the Lithuanian Basketball Federation, Complete Sports Management and Coach Lloyd for making it possible. I can't wait to show everyone what an amazing country Lithuania is and how much we love basketball."

Krivas announced his return to the Wildcats following the 2025-26 season, where he earned First Team All-Big 12 honors and was named to the Big 12 All-Defensive team. He averaged 104 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.9 blocked shots during the season, with his 7 blocked shots ranking seventh in Arizona single-season history.

"This is a historic moment for Lithuanian basketball," said Mindaugas Balciunas, president of Lithuania Basketball. "Two Final Four participants - Arizona, which has a strong Lithuanian basketball accent, and the NCAA champions, Michigan, will visit Lithuania and compete with the national teams of Lithuania and other countries. This is an exceptional gift for Lithuanian basketball fans and a great appreciation of Lithuanian basketball. We will strive to turn this opportunity into regular visits of NCAA teams to our country."

Start times, ticket information and potential television broadcast options for the games will be announced at a later date.

The timing of the tour in August is just ahead of a qualifying window, as both Ukraine and Lithuania are looking to earn qualification to the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup that will be played in Qatar.

"This will be a great opportunity to compete with the strongest college teams in the world," said Rimas Kurtinaitis, head coach of the Lithuanian men's basketball team. "Today's NCAA basketball is a competition of the most talented basketball players on the planet. We are looking forward to this opportunity, and I have no doubt that it will be a great experience for both the Lithuanian team and the Michigan and Arizona teams."

Complete Sports Management also organized and planned Arizona's previous international trip to Israel and Abu Dhabi. The organization is an all-encompassing sports events and marketing agency with capabilities that include the creation of sporting events globally, event management, sponsorship and hospitality packages.

"Complete Sports Management is proud to partner with the Lithuanian Basketball Federation to bring the University of Arizona men's basketball team to Lithuania this summer," said Lea Miller-Tooley, CSM's CEO and Founder. "This is a historic event as it's the first time the Lithuanian men's national team has ever played a NCAA college team. This is a great opportunity for these young college players to experience the rich culture of the sport in one of the most passionate basketball countries in the world."
