TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 20 Arizona lost the final game of the series to Utah, 10-2 in six innings, on Sunday afternoon. Arizona is now 35-15 (16-8 Big 12) heading into the Big 12 Softball Tournament.

The Wildcats tallied five hits and
Tayler Biehl and
Sydney Stewart drove in one run each for Arizona.

Utah scored two in the first inning to take an early lead over Arizona. After the leadoff batter singled, the Utes used a two-run home run to take the lead.

The Utes extended their lead to 4-0 in the third inning on their second two-run home run of the game.

In the fifth, Utah scored three runs to take a 7-0 lead. A third home run for the Utes gave them a five-run lead. A pair of back-to-back sac flies extended the lead to seven runs. Â

The Wildcats plated two runs in the top of the sixth. Stewart drove in the first run with a double to left field. Biehl hit an RBI single to bring home the second run of the inning for the Cats.

Utah completed the run-rule with three runs in the bottom of the sixth to win 10-2. The first run scored on a sac fly to take an 8-2 lead in the game. The Utes then hit a two-run single to walk off Arizona.

Jalen Adams picked up the loss in the circle to fall to 20-8 on the season. She pitched four innings, allowing five runs on six hits while striking out three Utes.
Jenae Berry pitched one inning in relief and allowed four runs on three hits.
Rylie Holder entered in the sixth to face the final four batters and allowed one run on one hit.

Arizona will head to the Big 12 Softball Tournament presented by Allstate. The tournament will begin on Thursday, May 7 at Devon Park in Oklahoma City. Â
