Arizona Athletics Announces Hiring of Carter Toole as Senior Associate Athletics Director and Chief Communications Officer

TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona Athletics announced today the hiring of Carter Toole as Senior Associate Athletics Director and Chief Communications Officer. Toole brings more than two decades of experience in strategic communications, branding, and executive leadership at the collegiate and professional sports levels.

In his new role, Toole will oversee Arizona Athletics' communications strategy, media relations, storytelling, and messaging initiatives.

Prior to Arizona, Toole served as Executive Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Communications and Chief of Staff at the University of Miami, where he directed department-wide communications strategy, oversaw media relations, creative services and broadcast operations, and served as a chief advisor to the athletics director.

"Carter is a nationally respected communications strategist and trusted leader who understands how to build and elevate a brand at the highest levels of college athletics," R. Ken Coit Director of Athletics Desireé Reed-Francois said. "He brings exceptional experience, strong relationships across the industry, and a collaborative leadership style that aligns with our vision for Arizona Athletics. Carter will play a key role as we continue to tell the story of our student-athletes, coaches, and department while positioning Arizona for sustained success nationally."

During his nine-plus years at Miami, Toole helped lead strategic communications efforts for one of the nation's most recognizable athletics brands. He also chaired the football program's Ring of Honor Committee, served on the Board of the UM Sports Hall of Fame & Museum and authored a commemorative book on the first 100 years of Miami football.

"I am incredibly grateful to Desireé Reed-Francois, Tony Daniel, Morgan Domenick and the hiring committee for this opportunity," Toole said. "Arizona Athletics has tremendous momentum, a clear vision for the future, and an outstanding culture built around competitive excellence and the student-athlete experience. I look forward to working alongside the talented staff at Arizona as we continue to tell stories that elevate the Wildcats brand."

Before his tenure at Miami, Toole worked in media relations for four NFL teams (Green Bay Packers, Tennessee Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Houston Texans) across nine seasons and held leadership positions with two Nashville agencies.
