Noah Fifita Picked for Walter Camp Player of the Year Watch List

TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona Football quarterback Noah Fifita has been named to the preseason watch list for the Walter Camp 2026 Player of the Year award, the Walter Camp Football Foundation announced on Monday.
Fifita is one of 50 players named to the watch list, and one of just 22 quarterbacks to earn the honor. The honor, first awarded in 1967, is the nation's fourth-oldest college football accolade.
Fifita, the nation's active career leader in touchdown passes, is entering his fifth year with Arizona in 2026 carrying lofty goals. The Heisman candidate is coming off a 2025 season in which he threw for 3,228 yards and 29 touchdowns en route to being named First Team All-Big 12; he was the first Arizona quarterback to earn first team all-conference honors in 50 years. Over the course of his Wildcat career, Fifita has gone 785-for-1211 through the air for 9,183 yards and 73 touchdowns while adding four touchdowns on the ground.
The 2026 Player of Year watch list will be narrowed to 10 semi-finalists in early November and three finalists will be announced in early December. The 2026 Walter Camp Player of the Year recipient, which is voted on by the 138 NCAA FBS head coaches and sports information directors, will be announced in the second week of December.
Fifita and the Wildcats kick off the 2026 season on Saturday, Sept. 5 at Casino Del Sol Stadium in Tucson. Arizona will host Northern Arizona with a kickoff slated for 6:30 p.m. MST.
