Kedrick Reescano Named to Doak Walker Award Watch List

TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona Football running back Kedrick Reescano has been selected for one of 62 spots on the 2026 Doak Walker Award preseason watch list, the PwC SMU Athletic Forum announced earlier this month.
The Doak Walker Award is presented annually to the nation's most outstanding college running back. The award is named for SMU's three-time All-America running back Doak Walker. Each Tuesday of this season, The PwC SMU Athletic Forum will once again announce a Doak Walker National Running Back of the week.
Reescano, a senior embarking on his third season with the Wildcats, led the team and finished tied for eighth in the Big 12 Conference with nine rushing touchdowns last year. Over the course of two seasons with the Wildcats, Reescano has rushed the ball 162 times for 755 yards and 10 touchdowns while adding 11 receptions for 59 yards through the air.
The PwC SMU Athletic Forum Board of Directors will name ten semifinalists in November, and three finalists, as voted on by the Doak Walker Award National Selection Committee, will also be announced in November. The committee will cast a second vote in December to determine the recipient. The National Selection Committee consists of past recipients, former NFL All-Pro and college All-America running backs, media members and selected special representatives. The recipient of the 2026 Doak Walker Award will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards on December 10, 2026.
Reescano and the Wildcats open the 2026 season at home with an in-state matchup against Northern Arizona on Saturday, Sept. 5. Kickoff at Casino Del Sol Stadium is slated for 6:30 p.m. MST.
