TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona Football linebacker
Taye Brown has been selected to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list, the Football Writers Association of America announced on Tuesday.
The Bronko Nagurski Trophy is presented annually by the FWAAÂ to the national defensive player of the year, and this year's watch list is made up ofr 68 defensive standouts from across the nation.
Brown, a senior with the Wildcats, is coming off a career-best year in 2025 in which he was selected Third Team All-Big 12. The Chandler, Arizona native started all 13 games for Arizona in 2025 and picked up 93 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. His 93 tackles were second most on the team and ranked 10th in the Big 12 Conference.
Through three seasons and 38 games in his collegiate career, Brown has amassed 168 total tackles (70 solo), 12.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, one interception, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
The FWAA and the Charlotte Touchdown Club will announce finalists for the 2026 trophy on Nov. 19. The official presentation to the recipient of the 2026 Bronko Nagurski Trophy will be at the Bronko Nagurski Awards Banquet in Charlotte, N.C. on Dec. 7.
Brown and the Wildcats open the 2026 season on Saturday, Sept. 5 as they welcome Northern Arizona to Casino Del Sol Stadium.
