Sophomore Season (2016-17)
Second Team All-Pac-12 selection… Most Outstanding Player of the Pac-12 Tournament and All-Tournament Team member after averaging 20.7 points 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 50.0 percent from deep en route to Arizona’s tournament season championship… Led Arizona in scoring at 17.2 points per game… Essential to his team’s win at No. 3 UCLA (Jan. 21, 2017) in his first game of the season with 12 points and then-career highs of seven rebounds and four assists… Grabbed a career-best 12 defensive rebounds in win at Washington State (Feb. 16, 2017), which were the most by any UA guard in the Sean Miller era… Set a new career high of 28 points on efficient 11 of 14 shooting against UCLA (Feb. 25, 2017)… Scored in double figures in all but two of his 13 appearances with six games of 20 or more points… Established new career mark for assists with seven against Washington State (Jan. 26, 2017) in his second game of the season, which was part of an opening stretch of the season for him of 15 assists to just three turnovers in his four games of the season… After posting 31 assists and 52 turnovers (.01 assist-to-turnover ratio) as a freshman, upped his numbers to 48 assists and 31 turnovers (1.55 assist-to-turnover ratio) in sophomore campaign… One of ten players in the conference to shoot 80.0 percent or greater at the free throw line in Pac-12 play.
Freshman Season (2015-16)
Pac-12 All-Freshmen Team selection… Pac-12 Player of the Week (12-14-2015)… Scored season-best 27 points in his team’s win over Fresno State (12-9-2015), which were the most by a UA freshman since Derrick Williams scored 28 points versus UNLV (12-2-2009)… His 40 made three-point field goals tied Nick Johnson for the seventh most by a UA freshman in a season despite missing seven games during Pac-12 play… Eclipsed the 20-point mark in eight games this season… Scored 20 points in his second collegiate game versus Bradley (11-16-2015), which included a perfect 14 of 14 free throw performance that was second best individual performance at the line in UA history… Shot 79.3 percent at the free throw line, which led Pac-12 freshman with at least 50 free throw attempts… Missed seven games during Pac-12 play after breaking a bone in his shooting hand in the first overtime of Arizona’s four-overtime thriller at USC.
USA Basketball
Teamed with head coach Sean Miller to help Team USA earn the gold medal in the 2015 FIBA U-19 Championships... Scored 11 points for Team USA at the 2015 Nike Hoop Summit in Portland … Teamed with UA head coach Sean Miller and former Arizona forward Stanley Johnson to lead the U.S. Men’s U18 National Team to the FIBA Americas U18 Championship gold medal in 2014 … Started all five games in the tournament for the U.S., averaging 12.6 points, shooting 62.1 percent from the floor and leading Team USA with an average of 6.4 free throw attempts per game.
