2011: A welcome addition for the Wildcats in the multi-events, Fuentes finished third at the Pac-10 Championships in the heptathlon with a score of 5,313 points to earn all-conference honors ... The score was good for the eighth-best mark in school history ... Was also an established javelin thrower en route to tossing the fifth-best throw in school history with a mark of 143-9 ... Earned all-conference honors in the event and advanced the NCAA West Preliminary Championships.
BEFORE ARIZONA: Transferred from San Francisco State University to Orange Coast College after one semester ... While at OCC, received her associate's degree in three semesters ... Competed on the soccer and track and field teams ... Track and field awards include Rookie of the Year (2009) and MVP (2010) ... Broke a 20-year-old school record in the heptathlon with 4,550 points and followed that with a score of 4,949 points .... Was the state leader and ranked second in the nation in the heptathlon ... Was named Orange Coast College Female Athlete of the Year for 2010.
HIGH SCHOOL: A three-sport athlete who competed in volleyball, soccer and track and field ... As a freshman in 2005, she set the Orange County freshman/sophomore record in the 300-meter hurdles (46.03) ... Also set the school record for the 300-meter hurdles (45.9) and was awarded MVP of the varsity team ... Other awards include a school record in the 100-meter hurdles (15.72) and in the 4x100-meter relay (48.18) ... As a senior middle blocker, she helped lead the volleyball team to win its first CIF Championship title in school history ... Awarded all-league and first-team All-CIF honors.
