Eugene, Ore. - The UA men's and women's track and field squads wrapped up the second and final day of competition at the Pac-10 Conference Championships in Eugene, Ore.  The Wildcats finished in eighth place on both sides after all was said and done at Hayward Field.

Senior Luis Rivera-Morales continued his conference domination Sunday, a day removed from winning the long jump title.  Rivera-Morales jumped 15.88m (52-1 1/4) on his fifth attempt to claim the victory in the triple jump.  It was the second best jump of his career and gave him the sweep of the indoor and outdoor conference long jump titles this season.

Also with an impressive performance in the triple jump was the suprise upstart Stefanos Micheal.  Micheal set four personal records in his six jumps culminating with his final attempt of 15.26m (50-0 3/4). It was a career day for the sophomore from Cyprus as it proved to be the first regional qualification of his career.

Abdi Hassan kicked off the festivities by making a strong run down the homestretch in the men's 1500-meters.  Hassan went around four athletes coming off the final corner to pull into fifth place, a position he would stay.  It has been a very impressive year for the redshirt freshman already as he is already the school freshman record holder in the event.  A fifth place finish at the regional championships in two weekends would be enough to send Hassan to the National Championships.

Another freshman continuing her impressive tear was Dahlys Marshall who brought home a seventh place finish in the women's 100-meter hurdles.  She, too, will compete for a national championship qualification in two weekends at the West Regional Championships.

Senior Chris Titsworth also earned All-Conference accolades by also finishing seventh in the men's 110-meter hurdles.  He has qualified for the West Regional in both the 110- and 400-meter hurdles this season.

All-American Gabriella Duclos won the conference championship two years ago but was unable to repeat the feat today, settling for third place.  It still earned her valuable points for the women's scores and it took personal best performances from the two ahead of her to beat her Sunday.

Another senior All-American, Megan Howard, earned her second All-Conference recognition of the weekend on Sunday.  Howard, who finished fourth in the shot put yesterday, had another fourth place finish in the women's hammer throw today with a season's best toss of 57.96m (190-2).  Kendra Walworth also scored for the Wildcats in the same event with her seventh place finish.

Taylor Freeman had another strong showing for the UA freshmen, taking eighth place in the women's discus throw to earn All-Conference honors.

Zack Lloyd also earned his second All-Conference award of the weekend with his sixth place finish in the discus throw while senior Jordan Powell also was among the conference's elite with his finish in the high jump.  Irine Lagat rounded out the All-Conference athletes for Arizona by finishing eighth in the women's 5000-meters.

The UA will play host to the Tucson Elite Thrower's Classic next weekend before the rest of the team heads back to Eugene in two weekends for the NCAA West Regional Championships
