TUCSON, Ariz. -
Senior swimmer Austen Thompson (Chandler, Ariz.) was one of 10 Pac-12 athletes to land on the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America Men’s and Women’s At-Large teams, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced on Thursday.
Thompson, a four-time All-American, capped off his senior campaign with an individual title in the 400 IM at the NCAA Championships in March. He graduated in May with a 3.47 GPA, studying molecular and cellular biology.
Thompson has been named to the Pac-10 or Pac-12 All-Academic teams three-consecutive times.
The Capital One Academic All-America Men’s At-Large program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo and wrestling.
