AZ Athletics wishes to thank participating Southern Arizona school district and their outstanding teachers for the opportunity to recognize excellence in education through the High School Teacher of the Year Award program.

We believe this partnership between business, higher education and public education is an important way to recognize teachers for their outstanding efforts on behalf of students.

Applicants are judged on the following criteria:

Teaching preparation and experience

Leadership ability

Participation in co-curricular or extracurricular activities involving students

Innovation or unique teaching practices

Evidence of successful teaching

Recognition by colleagues

Community Involvement
