TUCSON, Ariz.--- In part three of our 13-part “Getting to Know” series, ArizonaWildcats.com sits down with freshman guard Charise Holloway.

Holloway comes to Arizona with all kinds of potential, as she started all four seasons at St. Mary’s High School (Calif.), while averaging 17 points, six rebounds, and two steals per game her senior season. A natural born leader, she was named team captain her senior year, while she was also awarded the 2014 Northern California Division I Player of the Year.

The freshman has averaged 6.8 points and 3.8 rebounds so far at Arizona, while scoring a career a team-high 14 points on Nov. 21 vs. Texas Tech.

Now it’s time to meet Charise Holloway.

ArizonaWildcats.com: Who is your role model?

Holloway: My role model is my mother.

ArizonaWildcats.com: What’ has been the biggest challenge you’ve had transitioning from high school to college?

Holloway: Managing my time for sure.

ArizonaWildcats.com: What do you like most about the University of Arizona women’s basketball program?

 Holloway: It is very family oriented.

ArizonaWildcats.com: What’s your dream vacation spot?

Holloway: Jamaica 

ArizonaWildcats.com: What role does basketball play in your future?

Holloway: I plan on maybe going overseas, but I really want to become a lawyer.

ArizonaWildcats.com: Who influenced you to play basketball?

Holloway: My father.

ArizonaWildcats.com: What is something you have to do before you step out on the court?

Holloway: I have to pray.

ArizonaWildcats.com: What’s one interesting fact or something people do not know about you?

Holloway: I am mixed! I am Samoan, Puerto Rican, and African American.
