Greg Bordes completed his second season as the Wildcats Director of Baseball Operations in March 2020. He was hired in June 2018 by head coach Jay Johnson.
Bordes spent the previous two seasons at Grand Canyon University, working in both a coaching and operations role. The Phoenix native has also spent time at St. Mary's, Central Arizona and Arizona State, along with a scouting stint in the New York Mets organization.

Greg is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about winning baseball. He possesses the kind of work ethic that our program demands. This is a great addition, and I have no doubt he will make a great impact on Arizona Baseball."

"Growing up and competing against the University of Arizona several times in my life, I've always had a great amount of respect for how their student-athletes played the game with so much energy, passion and relentlessness. My family and I are humbled and grateful to join the Arizona Baseball program."
Bordes was hired by Grand Canyon prior to the 2017 season and helped guide the Lopes to a pair of WAC Regular Season Championships in 2017 and 2018. He served as the program's volunteer assistant in 2017, before transitioning to the role of director of baseball operations in 2018.
He came to Grand Canyon after one season at St. Mary's College in Moraga, California. He helped the Gaels win the West Coast Conference title and advance to the NCAA Tournament, where they advanced to the Raleigh Regional, hosted by North Carolina State.
Prior to St. Mary's, Bordes served as an assistant coach at Central Arizona. The Vaqueros went 37-19 in Borde's one season in Coolidge.
Bordes spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons at his Alma mater, Arizona State, as a volunteer assistant for the Sun Devils. In 2012, Bordes was a scout in the Phoenix area for the Mets. He spent the 2010 and 2011 seasons at Arizona State as a graduate manager.
A four-year letterwinner at Arizona State, Bordes played for the Sun Devils from 2005-2008. He was a member of two College World Series teams in 2005 and 2007 and was a part of two Pac-10 Championship teams in 2007 and 2008.
He played in 72 games for Arizona State, including 44 in 2008. He started 21 games on the Pac-10 Championship team and batted .304 with 21 RBI. He was a member of the All-Tempe Regional team.
Following his collegiate career, Bordes was signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He played two seasons in their system, suiting up for the Yakima Bears and the Mobile BayBears.
Bordes is a 2004 graduate of Mesa Dobson High School. He was a two-time team captain at Dobson and was ranked as the 16th best high school prospect in Arizona by Perfect Game.
He has a 6-year-old daughter, Scarlett.
