Ray McIntire is entering his third season as the program's Director of Operations. He is in charge of coordinating all team travel and meals, maintaining the team's operational budget and other administrative duties.
McIntire directs on-campus recruiting for the Wildcats, organizing visits, leading tours and handling the logistics of the visits. Arizona's incoming 2018 recruiting class is ranked 11th in the country and first in the Pac-12 by PerfectGame.org.
McIntire has seen his responsibilities grow during his time at Arizona and was promoted to a full-time, paid staff member prior to the fall of 2017. He assists Coach Jay Johnson in practice preparation, and is charge of the setup and flow of daily practice.
In McIntire's two seasons at Arizona, the Wildcats are the only Pac-12 program to make back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances. The Wildcats have also led the West Coast and Pac-12 in attendance each of the past two seasons as well.
McIntire came to Arizona from the University of Nevada, where he spent two years on Johnson’s staff, one as a volunteer assistant coach (2014-15) and the other as the assistant director of baseball operations (2013-14). In 2015, Nevada posted a 41-15 record and captured the school’s first-ever Mountain West title with a 22-6 mark in league play. The Wolf Pack was ranked in the top 25 for much of the season and totaled a 13-1 record in series of at least three games. The 41 overall wins ranked second in program history.
While at Nevada, McIntire helped with player development, team travel, and other administrative duties.
He also served as an assistant coach for the Peninsula Oilers in the Alaskan Baseball League during the summer of 2014.
McIntire played as an infielder on the Wolf Pack baseball team for three seasons and graduated from the University of Nevada in 2013 with his Bachelor’s degree in in human development and family studies. He earned his Master's degree in sports management from American Public University.
McIntire is a native from Winters, Calif. and is the son of Dave and Kathy McIntire.
