Josh Miller joins the Arizona Football program as Tight Ends Coach in January of 2025.
Miller joins the Wildcats after one season as Tight Ends Coach with the Marshall Thundering Herd in 2024. He served as an offensive analyst at Purdue for the 2023 campaign after working as Offensive Coordinator at Midwestern State in 2022, where he was also in charge of the quarterbacks.
He helped guide the Thundering Herd to a 10-3 overall record, working with new Offensive Coordinator
Seth Doege on a staff that clinched their first Sun Belt Championship. Miller guided Marshal tight end Toby Payne to All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention, after catching six touchdowns and averaging 9.9 yards per catch during the 2024 season.
Miller led Saginaw Valley State to a 7-4 overall record in his first season as offensive coordinator in 2021. The Cardinals ranked third in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in scoring offense (27.6 points) and fifth in averaging 311.7 yards per game. He also oversaw quarterbacks and running backs at SVSU and mentored GLIAC Offensive Back of the Year Tommy Scott, who rushed for 1,048 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2021.
Miller gained coaching experience on both sides of the ball during his career. He served as linebacker coach and recruiting coordinator, helping Ferris State reach the NCAA Division II semifinals in 2019.
He coached All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) receiver Scott Miller during a one-year stop at Bowling Green (Ohio) in 2018. Scott Miller finished the season with 71 receptions for 1,148 yards and nine touchdowns under his direction. Tampa Bay drafted Scott Miller in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft and was a member of the Buccaneers' Super Bowl-winning team in 2020.
Miller's coaching career began with four seasons at his alma mater from 2014-17 at St. Francis.
He served as quarterbacks coach in 2014 and 2015, helping the Cougars to NAIA national semifinalist status. He then broadened his horizons as a linebacker coach during St. Francis' NAIA national championship seasons in 2016 and 2017.
Miller was a four-year letter winner and three-year captain for St. Francis from 2009-13. The two-time All-Mid-States Football Association selection was named NAIA National Player of the Week for Sept. 21, 2013, after leading SFU to a 38-37 win against No. 7-ranked St. Ambrose (Iowa). In that game, Miller completed 25-of-37 passes for a career-high 412 yards with 18 of his 25 completions going for first downs. He was also a two-time academic all-conference academic choice during his collegiate career.
Miller graduated from St. Francis with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in Social Work in 2013. He earned his master's degree in organizational leadership from St. Francis in 2015.
Miller, and wife, Abigail, have three children – Ezra Kay, Malachi James and Adeline Grace.
