2022: Did not make an appearance during the 2022 season.

2021: Played in five games and made three starts at quarterback … Started the season opener vs. BYU and passed for 336 yards and a touchdown in his first collegiate start … Against BYU, he set Arizona records for completions (34) and pass attempts (45) for a quarterback making their first start since 1980 … He finished the season with 536 passing yards and two touchdowns before suffering a season-ending injury vs. Colorado.

Before Arizona: Part of the Washington State program for two seasons, redshirting in 2019 and making one appearance versus No. 20 USC in 2020… College action versus No. 20 USC (12-6-2020) saw him complete five of seven passes for 34 yards and first career touchdown on six-yard completion to Renard Bell in the endzone… Standout prep career at Casteel High School in Queen Creek, Arizona as football, basketball and track letterwinner… On football field he was 5A San Tan Region Player of the Year and First Team All-District as a senior in 2018 amassing 3,598 yards and 30 touchdowns with an impressive 73.0 completion percentage through the air… Also rushed for 14 touch downs as a senior while being selected to the East-West All-American Bowl and the Polynesian Bowl… Junior season at Casteel saw him earn All-State Player of the Year, All-State First Team, All-Region First Team accolades after throwing for 3,185 yards and 40 touchdowns… Three-time member of the Arizona High School All-Academic Team and three-year captain on football team… Member of head coach Jedd Fisch’s first recruiting class at Arizona.

Personal: Parents, Carlos and Aimee…older sister, Taelor… named multi-sport Scholar Athlete of the Year twice ... Was first athlete in school history to commit to a Division I program after CHS opened in 2015, Cruz is member of first senior class at CHS.
