2019 (XC): Competed in five events … Ran a PR in the 8k at the Pac-12 Championships … Finished in the top 15 at the Dave Murray Invitational.
High School: Attended Holy Family High School … Lettered in both cross country and track & field all four years … Named first team all-region in cross country and track his junior and senior years … Named second team all-state in cross country his senior year … Hold school records in the 5k, 1600 meter, 3200 meter, and 4x800 meter races … Won a state championship in the 4x800 meter relay … Received academic all-state honor his junior and senior years.
Personal: Son of Ronald and Denise Montoya and brother of Moriah … Participated in taekwondo and earned a third degree black belt … Played guitar for ten years and played two shows with his band at Red Rocks in Colorado … Pursuing a degree in physiology and hopes to get his doctorate.
