Biography
As a Senior (2016): Named Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year … Competed in every match (school-record 35), completing a career in which saw action every match, a school-record 136, including 482 total sets, second in school history … Posted 505 digs, second best season mark in school history … Finished her career fifth in school history in career digs (1,228) … Finished ninth in the Pac-12 in digs per set (3.8) … Ended her career with 83 victories, making her, along with fellow four-year senior Penina Snuka, the winningest senior class at Arizona since 2003 … Helped lead the team to its fourth straight NCAA Tournament berth, the first senior class to do so since 2005 … In her final 50 career matches, dating back to 2015, had 46 matches with 10-plus digs … Ranked second on the team with 25 aces after entering the season with 18 total in her career … Played in 482 sets in her career, second most in Arizona history … Led the team with 30 matches with double figure digs … Posted her first career double-double vs. Oregon (10/1) … Named to the first-team Pac-12 all-academic squad for the third straight season … Led the team in digs on 17 occasions and service aces in seven matches … Had 115 assists on the season (0.86/set) … Posted a career-high four aces vs. Alabama State (9/2/16), tied for the third-most aces in a three-set match in the Pac-12 in 2016 … Set career marks in assists (115; 0.86/set), aces (25; 0.19/set), digs (505; 3.80/set) and points (26.0; 0.20/set) … Named to the Wildcat Classic all-tournament team … Had 3.99 digs/set in Pac-12 play, fifth best in the Pac-12.
As a Junior (2015): Arizona’s primary libero the majority of the season … Led the team in digs with 3.39/set … Accumulated 420 digs, fifth most in a season in school history … Was the anchor of the defense that led the conference in digs for the third straight season (all three of Larson’s years at Arizona), averaging 16.83 digs/set … Was one of two Wildcats to play all 124 sets, which are tied for fourth in Arizona history for sets played in a season … A Pac-12 all-academic first-teamer for the second consecutive year … Put up double-figure digs in each of Arizona’s last 16 matches of the season after posting 10-plus in just seven of Arizona’s first 17 matches … Put up 20-plus dig efforts in each of Arizona’s last three matches of the regular season, including a career-high 27 in UA’s victory over No. 11 UCLA (11/22), after having just three total 20-plus-dig matches in her first 97 career matches … Led the team with 23 double-figure dig efforts … Her 3.94 digs/set in Pac-12 play ranked ninth in the Pac-12 … Set career-highs in kills (2), assists (85, 0.69/set), aces (9), digs (420, 3.39/set) … Put up two aces vs. Stanford (9/30) to tie a career high.
As a Sophomore (2014): Appeared in all 34 matches and 118 of Arizona’s 119 sets on the season … Finished fifth on the team with 223 digs (1.89/set) … Totaled 14 assists (0.12/set) on the year … Put together a 4.0 GPA while majoring in molecular and cellular biology, helping her land on the Capital One Academic all-district second team as well as the first-team Pac-12 all-academic squad … Tied a career best with 15 digs at Oregon State (10/24) … Had 10 double-digit dig matches, including 10 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament vs. BYU (12/5).
As a Freshman (2013): Saw action in all 34 matches in her freshman campaign including 104 of the team’s 118 total sets…Accumulated 80 digs, 12 assists, eight service aces and a kill on the season…Had a career-high 15 digs in a tough four-set victory against Portland State on Sept. 13…Also had 11 digs and her only career kill in the team’s come from behind five-set win over UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 21…Had a career-high two service aces in a 3-0 win over Wofford on Sept. 21.
Prep: Was a three-year letterwinner at Lakeville North High School…Finished her senior season with 427 digs (4.5 p/s), 31 service aces and 17 assists in leading the Wildcats to the class 3A state championship…In the championship match, Larson had a match-high 21 digs…She also led Lakeville North to the 2010 state title as a sophomore…Was named all-state honorable mention and All-South Suburban Conference in 2012…Also made the all-tournament team as a 16-year-old on the 18-and-under M1 club team in the Fusion Showcase…Was a libero on the club team since 2009… Larson was also named the Athena Award winner for Lakeville North, an honor going to the top female senior student-athlete…In addition to volleyball, she has also been a captain of the Lakeville North girl’s golf team and played in the state tournament in 2012.
