Nils Roth

Nils Roth joined the Arizona Soccer staff in January 2026 as an assistant/goalkeeper coach after serving as the associate head/goalkeeper coach at his alma mater, Pima College, for three years. During his time at Pima, the Aztecs posted a 51-9-1 record, won the ACCAC Region I Championship, and were named the 2024 United Soccer Coaches West Region Staff of the Year.

Roth helped guide Pima College to an 18-4 record during the 2025 season and a 20-1-1 mark in 2024. Both seasons ended in the NJCAA National Semifinals against the eventual national champion. During his tenure, he helped develop seven NJCAA All-Americans, including 2024 Defensive Player of the Year D’Andre Pickett.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Roth joined the coaching staff of FC Tucson in February 2025 as goalkeeper coach for the first team during its USL League Two campaign. He also spent time as a player with FC Tucson, competing for the club in 2023 and 2024.

Roth graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word in 2022 with a degree in business economics. He later earned his Master of Business Administration from Colorado State University Pueblo.

As a player, Roth competed collegiately at Pima College, Incarnate Word, and Colorado State University Pueblo. He was the starting goalkeeper for Pima’s 2018 NJCAA Division I National Championship team and earned First Team United Soccer Coaches All-American honors that season. In 2019, he was named Second Team United Soccer Coaches All-Region.

Following two seasons competing in the NCAA Division I Western Athletic Conference at Incarnate Word, Roth transferred to CSU Pueblo as a graduate student, where he helped lead the program to the NCAA Division II National Championship game.
