Michael Ma joined the Arizona volleyball staff in the fall of 2019, serving as the volunteer assistant coach on head coach Dave Rubio's staff.
Ma is an experienced high school, club and collegiate coach, having served as an assistant coach for both indoor and beach volleyball clubs. Ma began his coaching career as a coach and treasurer's assistant at Seal Beach Volleyball Club, where he led the team to a gold medal at the 2019 Colorado Crossroads Qualifier, and served as an assistant coach at Cerritos High School (2013), Valley Christian High School (2014-15) and Cypress High School (2016-17). He helped lead Cypress to a CIF-SS Division III Championship in 2017.
He comes to Arizona after serving as a graduate assistant coach at Westcliff University in 2018.
Ma attended Long Beach State University, where he graduated with a bachelor's of science in business administration in the fall of 2016. Ma competed on the club volleyball team at Long Beach State from 2013-15.
