TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona men's basketball has announced the addition of JJ Mandaquit to the roster for the 2026-27 season. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining after spending his first season at the University of Washington.

At Washington, Mandaquit appeared in 22 games and made six starts while averaging 5.2 points and 3.2 assists and playing 19 minutes per game during the 2025-26 season. He scored a season-high 15 points in 20 minutes of action against No. 4 Michigan, including a 3 of 4 effort from the 3-point line. He hasd70 assists to just 27 turnovers for a 2.59 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Mandaquit also has experience with USA Basketball, winning three gold medals with the Junior National Team. Most recently, he was a member of the 2025 U19 FIBA World Cup team, led by head coach
Tommy Lloyd, that won gold in Switzerland where he averaged 6.1 points, 5.4 assists over seven games. He also brought home gold at the 2024 U17 FIBA World Cup by averaging 6.6 points and 6.1 assists – including 11 assists in the gold medal game against Italy. His first gold came at the 2023 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.

Coming out of high school, Mandaquit was ranked No. 50 in the country and the No. 6 point guard according to 247Sports. He was nominated for the McDonald's All-American game while attending Utah Prep Academy.
