HONOLULU (AP) - Dee-Dee Wheeler scored nine of her 21 points during a key
second-half run in No. 21 Arizona's 66-57 victory over Hawaii in the
fifth-place game of the Rainbow Wahine Classic.
Wheeler scored nine straight points in a 12-6 Arizona run that broke a 41-41
tie in the second half and gave the Wildcats (3-2) the lead for good.
Danielle Adefeso added 12 points, and Aimee Gryzb had 11.
Hawaii got within two points three times midway through the second half, the
last on Jade Abele's jumper with 6:10 remaining. But Arizona held the Rainbow
Wahine scoreless for the next four minutes and built the lead back up to eight.
Callie Spooner's two free throws broke the drought, the last Hawaii would
score in the game.
Abele led Hawaii (1-4) with 21 points, and Pam Tambini added 11.
