MALIBU, Calif. – Junior Jason Jaruvang and freshman Romain Boudaroua each picked up wins for Arizona on day two of the ITA Southwest Regional Championships on Saturday.
Jaruvang advanced to the third round of consolation play, as he secured a dominating 6-1, 6-3 victory over UC Santa Barbara's Nathan Eshmade.
Boudaroua followed suit, as he claimed a dramatic 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 come-from-behind win over Pepperdine's Kento Tanaka-Tamaki to punch his ticket into the third round of consolation play.
Junior Naoki Takeda saw his title hopes come to a close, as he dropped a 6-4, 6-1 decision to USC's No. 47 Marko Goles-Babic in the round of 32 of main draw action. Takeda represented the only Wildcat remaining in the singles main draw.
Matt Dunn/ Jaruvang fell to UCLA's tandem of Mackenzie McDonald and Martin Redlicki 8-1 in round of 16 doubles action.
Arizona will get back after it, as it'll begin day three of ITA Regional championship play tomorrow morning.
