SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – Freshman running back Nick Wilson had a career game as the 15th-ranked Arizona Wildcats (9-2, 6-2 Pac-12) defeated the 20th-ranked Utah Utes (7-4, 4-4 Pac-12) 42-10. Wilson finished the day with 20 carries, 218 yards and three touchdowns, including a 75-yard score. Wilson's 218 yards and three touchdowns are both career highs.

The Arizona defense stepped up in a big way after redshirt freshman quarterback Anu Solomon left the game by forcing four Utah turnovers. The Wildcats finished with two defensive touchdowns and 21 points off of turnovers.

Redshirt senior safety Tra'Mayne Bondurant totaled 10 tackles, a forced fumble and an interception, while sophomore linebacker Scooby Wright added nine tackles with a tackle for a loss.

After a slow start by both teams, Solomon led the Wildcats down the field with a 51-yard pass to redshirt senior receiver Austin Hill. One play later, Solomon ran in his first career rushing touchdown to give Arizona the first score of the game with 3:23 left in the first quarter.

About halfway through the second quarter, Utah was putting together a potential scoring drive, but it was halted by redshirt senior free safety Jourdon Grandon after he intercepted Utah quarterback Travis Wilson in the end zone.

After a couple three-and-outs, Arizona got back on the board with 4:12 left in the second quarter as Wilson scampered into the end zone from 17 yards out making it 14-0 Wildcats. The score capped off a four-play, 73-yard drive, highlighted by a 49-yard pass from Solomon to redshirt sophomore receiver Trey Griffey.

On the ensuing Utah possession, Bondurant forced his third fumble of the year and redshirt senior defensive lineman Dan Pettinato recovered the fumble and ran for 31 yards to score, making it 21-0 Arizona with 1:17 left in the first half.

The Utes responded by driving down the field with ease, and Wilson found Westlee Tonga in the end zone to cut Arizona's lead to 21-7.

The Wildcats got a big stop after a sack by Grandon on Utah's first possession of the second half, and senior quarterback Jesse Scroggins stepped in for the Wildcats. After a long pass by Scroggins to sophomore receiver Samajie Grant, a bad snap resulted in a fumble in the red zone and Utah recovered.

The Utes drove down the field thanks to a 61-yard rush by Devontae Booker and put three points on the board after a 28-yard field goal by Andy Phillips to make the score 21-10 Arizona.

Arizona forced a Utah punt, which was downed at their own 5-yard line, but Wilson scored his second touchdown of the day after an impressive 75-yard run. This gave the Wildcats a 28-10 lead with 11:50 left in the fourth quarter.

The Wildcats kept the momentum going after linebacker Derrick Turituri deflected a pass at the line of scrimmage and redshirt senior safety Jared Tevis intercepted Travis Wilson.

On the very next play, Nick Wilson ran for 19 yards and scored his third touchdown on the day. This gave Arizona a 35-10 lead with 10:40 left in the game.

Bondurant kept his good day going as he earned his fifth career defensive touchdown. The senior collected a 39-yard interception return for a touchdown to extend the Wildcats' lead to 42-10 and neither team scored for the duration of the game.

Arizona is back in action on Fri., Nov. 28 at 1:30 p.m. MST, hosting Arizona State in the Territorial Cup.
