TUCSON, Ariz. – With the first round of play complete at the Annika Intercollegiate, Arizona women's golf leads the team race by two strokes on Sunday. The 54-hole stroke play event is being held Sun.-Tues., Sept. 28-30, at Reunion Resort (par 72, 6,247 yards), in Orlando, Fla.
Arizona shot an eight-under score of 280 in round one. South Carolina sits in second place with a 282 (-6). Northwestern and Stanford are tied for third with scores of 286 (-2).
Sophomore Wanasa Zhou is tied for the individual lead with Justine Dreher of South Carolina. The pair shot rounds of 68 (-4) on the opening day of play. Senior Manon Gidali is tied for third place with her round of 69 (-3).
Senior Kendall Prince sits in a nine-way tie for 11th place. She shot a 71 (-1). Junior Lindsey Weaver shot a 72 (E) and sits in an eight-way tie for 20th place. Freshman Krystal Quihuis shot a 77 (+5) and sits in a four-way tie for 49th place.
