TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona swimming ended competition in Austin, Texas with long-course time trials. The Cats earned a multitude of Olympic Trial cuts in addition to the NCAA cuts from the invitational.
For the women, Paige Kremer made an Olympic Trial cut in the 50m free with a time of 25.68, taking first in the event. Annie Ochitwa followed, also earning a trial cut (25.81). Kremer later got another trial cut in the 100m free, winning with 55.71.
In the 100m fly, Sam Getzen finished second, touching in 1:01.15. Daniela Georges then took first in the 200m free (2:02.34), both earning Olympic trial cuts.
Sara Borendame made a trial cut in the 100m breast while taking first with a time of 1:10.21.
On the men's side, Riccardo Maestri earned an Olympic trial cut in the 200m free, placing first with 1:50.61. Chris Wieser finished second, also earning a trial cut (1:50.78).
Two Wildcats then earned trial cuts in the 100m breast. Gage Crosby won the event with a time of 1:01.34 followed by Will Wihanto with 1:02.88. In the 200m back, Thane Maudslien made an Olympic trial cut, touching in 2:03.28.
Renny Richmond then received a trial cut in the 100m free as he took first in the event (50.32). Nick Hogsed earned the last Olympic trial cut in the 1500 free with a time of 15:41.44.
