TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona women's golf sits in a tie for seventh place after completing the first round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. The Wildcats posted a score of 296 (+12). The tournament is hosted by Ohio State at Palos Verdes Golf Club (par 71, 6,017 yards) in Palos Verdes, Calif.
Freshman Krystal Quihuis led the Wildcats with a 70 (-1) and finishes the round in a tie for sixth place. Senior Manon Gidali shot a 74 (+3) and sophomore Wanasa Zhou shot a 75 (+4). Junior Lindsey Weaver finished the round with a score of 77 (+6), and senior Kendall Prince finishes with a 78 (+7).
Baylor leads the pack after finishing the round three under (281). Arizona State is four shots back from the lead after posting a score of 285 (+1). No. 4 USC is in third place with a score of 287 (+3).
Competition continues Monday as Arizona will play 18 more holes and is set to tee off at 9:12 PT/10:12 MST.
