TUCSON, Ariz. – After one round of play, the University of Arizona women's golf team leads at the SunTrust Gator Women's Golf Invitational. The Wildcats finished with a team score of 295 (+15).
Arizona was led by strong performances from senior Manon Gidali and freshman Krystal Quihuis. Both had scores of 73 (+3) and tie for fourth place after the first round. Sophomore Wanasa Zhou followed with a 74 (+1) to finish the round in a tie for ninth place.
Junior Lindsey Weaver carded a score of 75 (+5) and finishes the round in a tie for 17nd place. Senior Kendall Prince rounds out the Arizona five with a score of 82 (+12).
As an individual, senior Andrea Vilarasau finished the round in a tie for 38th place with a 78 (+8).
It's a tight race, with No. 33 Florida just two shots back of Arizona at +17. No. 35 GRU-Augusta rounds out the top three with a 300 (+20).
