WACO, Texas – Sophomore and 55th-ranked Lauren Marker lost in the round of 64 at the 2015 NCAA Singles Championships out at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
“Lauren had a really good year and I'm very happy with the progress she made,” head coach Vicky Maes said. “Today, she just couldn't get anything going. It's a bit of a shame to end the season in this way, but she battled and that's all you can ask for.”
Marker dropped her match to 46th-ranked Simona Parajova of TCU in straight sets 6-2, 6-3. Parajova was the 13th ranked opponent Marker faced this year. The sophomore finished the season with a record of 6-7 against such foes, while she racked up a team-high 23 overall singles victories and went 7-5 in tournament play.
The 27th-ranked doubles team of Briar Preston and Shayne Austin will get going in the NCAA Doubles Championships tomorrow at a 3:30 p.m. PT. They will face No. 6 Brooke Austin/Kourtney Keegan of Florida.
